Pharmacy Practice Residency

The residency in pharmacy practice at Canadian pharmacy online is an ASHP-accredited program emphasizing in clinical pharmacy practice. The goal of the residency is to teach the resident all aspects of providing quality pharmaceutical care in an inpatient healthcare setting. The program follows the Residency Learning System (RLS) Model developed by ASHP

Residency Program

The residency offers training in pharmacy administration, nutritional support, pharmacokinetics, and internal medicine. The program is affiliated with ASHP and offers the ability to supervise and teach pharmacy students as well as participate in the University of Florida teaching certificate program. The resident is given the opportunity to present a formal project at the ASHP midyear meeting and at ASPEN. Other activities in which the resident will participate are attending the NOVA Southeastern University patient assessment institute, participating in P&T meetings/medical management teams, reporting of adverse drug reactions, and presenting drug use evaluations

Requirements

  • Successfully complete Florida state board examination prior to entering the program (or ability to obtain Florida license by the start of the program)
  • Possess a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) from an ACPE-accredited school or college.
  • Ability to commit to a residency program for a one-year period
  • Non-resident Alien Applicants must have student visa valid through end of residency program
  • Complete an onsite interview with presentation to pharmacy staff
