Meet the Team
The Comprehensive Epilepsy Program is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of specialists including a neurologist specializing in epilepsy, an epilepsy neurosurgeon, a neuropsychologist, a neuroradiologist, EEG technologists, neuroscience nurses, a nurse practitioner and a physician assistants, speech pathologists and social workers. Our treatment team also involves pharmacists, a pathologist, and a nuclear medicine specialist. The program is led by Erasmo A. Passaro, M.D., who is nationally recognized for his work and experience in epilepsy. Dr. Passaro received his undergraduate degree in Biology with honors from the University of Chicago and completed his medical training at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. His neurology and epilepsy training was completed at the UCLA Reed Neurologic Institute, one of the first comprehensive epilepsy centers in the U.S.
He was Director of the Adult Epilepsy Laboratory and Medical Director for the Brain Mapping program at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Ann Arbor. He has trained numerous physicians to become specialists in epilepsy.
He is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology, the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with added qualification in Clinical Neurophysiology and the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
Dr. Passaro has been involved in more than 250 epilepsy surgery procedures and has conducted video-EEG monitoring on more than 1,000 patients. He has published and presented his research in peer-reviewed journals and at national meetings.
He is one of five neurologists board certified in epilepsy in the Tampa Bay area and the only board certified epilepsy physician in Pinellas and Pasco Counties, and Southwest Florida.
Dr. Jobe is the epilepsy neurosurgeon for the program. He completed his undergraduate training in chemistry with honors at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and received his MD degree at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. He then completed a surgical internship at Wayne State and received his general neurosurgery and epilepsy surgery training at Rush Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. In the early 1980’s, she worked in the laboratory Robert Collins, MD at Washington University. She later worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rocherster, MN with Suresh Kotagal. For 15 years, she worked at the Oregon Health Sciences Epilepsy Center performing video-EEG monitoring of epilepsy patients undergoing diagnostic and pre-surgical video-EEG monitoring. In July 2003, she joined the Bayfront Medical Center Epilepsy Program as the Chief Epilepsy Monitoring Technologist

Cindy manages the epilepsy and EEG laboratories and performs outpatient and inpatient EEGs, evoked potentials and intra-operative monitoring. She received her EEG training at Park Plaza Hospital in Houston, Texas and served as chief EEG technologist at St. Petersburg General Hospital for six years. She joined Bayfront Medical Center in 1988 as the lab manager and developed the EEG/clinical neurophysiology lab, epilepsy lab and the sleep laboratory.
As the chief neurodiagnostic technologist, she performs outpatient and inpatient routine 24-hour ambulatory EEGs of epilepsy patients and intra-operative EEG and evoked potential monitoring.
Tess graduated from St. Joseph’s School of EEG Technology in Tampa. While employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital, she helped develop the pediatric epilepsy monitoring clinic.
Patti is involved with both inpatient and outpatient speech and language evaluations for stroke patients, head injury and epilepsy patients. She also participates in the speech and language evaluation during intra and extra-operative brain mapping.

Dr. Wanucha is a social workers specializing in adults with epilepsy who is available to counsel patients on how to better cope with the difficulties of living with a seizure disorder. She can provide resources regarding vocational rehabilitation and other counseling resources.

Beth was a registered EEG and evoked potential technologist for 15 years and later became a registered nurse. She has been with Bayfront’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Program since 2004 and assists with outpatient and inpatient epilepsy diagnosis and treatment, and the treatment of epilepsy in the elderly. Beth also has an interest in women’s issues and epilepsy.
Whitney joined Bayfront Medical Center in January of 2005. Her interests include inpatient and outpatient epilepsy diagnosis and treatment, as well as women’s issues in epilepsy.
