Bayfront Institute of Neurosciences Spinal Cord Injury Program |
||||||||||||
Spinal cord patients regain confidence and maximum use of their abilities through therapy offered in the inpatient Rehabilitation Center or at one of two outpatient programs. A team of rehab professionals works with the patient and family to set weekly goals for progress.
In the inpatient center, spinal cord patients participate in four to six hours of intensive therapy that includes self-care and wheelchair transfer. An important focus of this program is community reintegration, with periodic group activities to locations outside the hospital. Spinal cord injury patients may also benefit from the hospital’s driver evaluation and training program.
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities accredits Bayfront’s rehab services. In addition, Medicare officially designates the Bayfront Northeast Rehabilitation Center, 9700 9th Street North, as an approved comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facility.
