Who Can Use the CDC?

The Child Development Center is an important benefit we offer our team members and physicians.

Not Just a Day Care

The Bayfront Child Development Center is more than just a day care center. It’s a loving, nurturing environment where professional teachers guide and encourage children to blossom into happy, confident and successful young people. Each child is treated as a unique and special individual.

Bayfront partners with Knowledge Learning Corporation to deliver a top-quality center for physicians' and team members’ children, ages 8 weeks to 5 years. Knowledge Learning Corporation is a global company noted for its innovative childcare programs that meet the needs of both employers and employees.

Excellent Credentials

The Bayfront Child Development Center is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The center meets rigorous standards in many areas: the quality of interaction between teachers and children, the health, safety and physical environment of the center and the qualifications of teachers.

Program Overview

Children are divided into age groups with their own classrooms and playgrounds. Teachers are highly skilled, experienced and trained in child development. Many teachers have been with the center since it first opened in 1991.

Weekly lesson plans are created for each age level (infants through pre-school) and based on the child’s developmental needs. The top-rated World at Their Fingertips curriculum emphasizes music, science, math, art, language and creative expression. Everyday situations become "teachable moments."

Parents Are Special People

Parents are welcome to visit at any time. Daily parent-teacher communication, progress reports, conferences and special events encourage active family participation in many center activities.

Healthy & Happy

Good nutrition is essential for growing children. A licensed dietitian plans all lunches and snacks to be sure meals are healthy, well balanced and designed with children’s taste in mind.  For more information, call (727) 896-KIDS.

Bearly Sick: TLC for Mild Illness

A Win-Win for Kids & Parents

When children can’t attend school or day care because of mild illness or injury, Bearly Sick is the perfect "home away from home."

It’s a winning combination: children receive plenty of rest and professional attention, while parents continue working, confident that their child is safe, comfortable and receiving excellent care.

The program is staffed by a registered nurse, childcare specialists and trained volunteers who closely monitor each child’s condition.

Each child is "admitted" to a private or semi-private room, complete with bed and bathroom, VCR and television. PlayStation, Nintendo, board games and age-appropriate videos are available.

Convenient & Accessible

Children ages 8 weeks through 14 years are welcome to attend the program, which is open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m.- 6 p.m. It is conveniently located at the Bayfront Family Health Center, directly across the street from the main hospital.

Parents are welcome to visit or call at any time during the day. Fees are based on full day and half day charges. A cold breakfast, hot lunch and snacks are offered throughout the day at no extra charge.
