Remember to donate blood in 2012, add dates in your calendar | 1.2.11

ST. PETERSBURG - Every month, Bayfront Medical Center partners with Florida Blood Services to host community blood drives on the hospital campus.

Blood donations are always in need, especially at hospitals. During National Blood Donation Awareness Month, Bayfront wants you to know that making a blood donation is easy and can save lives. Giving blood takes 7 to 10 minutes. It’s estimated that giving blood can save as many as three lives and that about 1 in 10 people entering a hospital will need blood.

About 90 percent of our population will need donated blood in their lifetime. Give blood to help your friends, family and the greater community at these upcoming blood drives at Bayfront:

January, 26, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
February 16, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
March 29, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
April 19, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
