Bayfront Baby Place
In January 2010, Bayfront Medical Center will relocate Bayfront Baby Place into the new All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg. This move will add the best technology and facilities the industry has to offer to the top-quality care Bayfront currently provides and will further solidify the trailblazing partnership between Bayfront’s obstetrics program and All Children’s neonatal intensive care. This propels our joint program onto the national stage as a model for high-risk obstetrical and neonatal treatment, making it the only one of its kind in the nation.
Bayfront Baby Place at All Children’s Hospital will feature 13 private birthing suites; an eight-bed assessment area; 40-bed postpartum unit; 14-bed antepartum unit; four surgical suites for C-sections with dedicated prep/recovery area; and a nursery. Babies needing extra special care will be transferred to All Children’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). New mothers will be in the same building as their sick babies, separated by a brief elevator ride.
Bayfront Baby Place will feature a dedicated entrance for birthing mothers and their families, as well as a skywalk connecting Baby Place with Bayfront’s main hospital building. Bayfront Baby Place will remain a Bayfront Medical Center program staffed by skilled Bayfront physicians and nurses.
This important investment is a symbol of our commitment to do the right thing for our patients and our community.
